SuperSport ParkThe SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium is the home of the Northern Titans Cricket Union, and has been designed to blend in with the environment. Special recreational facilities have been created to fulfil the demands of family recreation.The stadium has seating for 20 000 spectators, 70 private suites with the necessary amenities, and 6 000 formal seats at the foot of the main pavilion. There are also informal seating on the grass slopes under large shady trees. In the main pavilion provision has been made for offices, a luxury restaurant and a modern multi-purpose conference hall with equipment to accommodate conferences of approximately 600 people.

Musical FountainThe water organ is situated in the lake, directly in view of the lake square. Interesting entertainment is presented here at night and over weekends. The water organ with its 600 fountain-jets and 280 coloured lights, is a great attraction and large numbers of people visit Verwoerdburgstad to see it.

Verwoerdburg LakeWith the establishment of Verwoerdburgstad this beautiful man-made lake was created on the banks of the Hennops River.The lake is 7,5 ha in size, with a length of 600 m and a width which varies between 75 and 150 m, and an average depth of 2,4 m. The area below the bridge appears to be very popular for functions, "potjiekos" competitions and other outdoor events. Zwartkop Nature ReserveThis reserve has been developed on the picturesque banks of the Hennops River in an area of almost untouched nature near Zwartkop. The area is shady, has plenty of water and an interesting landscape.A variety of birds can be seen here while a number of game species have been resettled, i.e. approximately 400 blesbok, springbok, impala, red hartebeest, ostrich and zebra. A network of walking trails has been laid out while the flora is being marked and identified. The reserve is well placed in terms of access roads, and offers an excellent outdoor facility for residents and tourists alike. A lapa containing braai facilities is available, while adequate toilet facilities add to the convenience of visitors. The area can be hired for private functions - ring 671 7668 for enquiries. |
