Centurion Service Centre:
The aim of the Centre is to assist senior citizens to remain independent and active by providing services and activities for them.

The Service Centre is situated on the corner of Fountain Avenue and Potgieter Road in Lyttelton. Tel: 664 5754 or 664 0984/5. P O Box 14950, Centurion, 0140.

  • Services: Choir, 'boere-orkes', games, fitgim exercises, men's and ladies' hairdressers, geriatric clinic, Defence Force clinic, chiropody clinic, library, social events, laundry service, handwork groups, prayer meetings, newsletter, rebated burglar proofing, personal attention, shopping assistance, group events, target shooting, day-outings, tours, mini-golf, transport of members.
  • Meals: Lunch is provided at 12:30 daily at a special tariff of R7,00 per person for members of the Service Centre. Non-members pay R9,00. For special cases lunches are currently delivered at an extra cost of R1,00. A special Christmas lunch is provided during December.

Centurion Council for the Aged:
The Centurion Council for the Aged also comprises of a home care service:

  • 10 Freelance nurses
  • 5 Freelance social workers
  • 2 Freelance occupational therapists
  • 1 Freelance physiotherapist
  • 150 Trained voluntary workers
  • Subsidised meals for pensioners on recommendation of the social workers

The Council comprises of the service of a private medical practitioner whose services can be recovered from the patient's medical funds. Payment for these services is done on a sliding scale, form 20% to 80%, according to the income of the person.

  • Rooihuiskraal - Each Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 in the Library Auditorium.
  • Kiepersol Club - Meets every Wednesday between 10:00 and 12:00 in the Kiepersol Community Centre, Eldoraigne. A social programme is presented and a nurse, a doctor as well as a social worker are available.
  • AGS Lofdal Retirement Village - A nursing clinic for the residents of this village takes place on every Tuesday morning.
  • Betanië Retirement Village - A nursing clinic for the residents takes place on every Monday morning.
  • Centurion Service Centre - A nursing clinic is arranged for every second Friday from 12:00 to 14:00, which is followed by a social programme.
  • Gem Village - A nursing clinic is arranged for residents every Tuesday morning.
  • Kloofsig - Every first Wednesday of the month, a nursing clinic and social meeting at one of the homes of a resident in Kloofsig.
  • Raslouw - Clinic once per week.
