Town Council Elections & Meetings

Elections of the Town Council members are usually held every four years - the most recent election was held in November 1995. The qualifications of persons whose names may appear on the municipal voters' roll are specified in the Municipal Elections Ordinance, 1970, and are as follows:

  • Persons may only register as a voter when they have reached the age of 18 years
  • Persons must reside in the Centurion area of jurisdiction

    Town Council meetings are usually held at 19:30 on the last Tuesday of the month in the Council Chambers, Napier Road, Lyttelton. Centurion residents as well as visitors are welcome to attend these meetings. Interested persons who wish to attend are kindly requested not to come in casual dress.
